Crocodile and Bird watching tour in Goa

About the trip

The journey starts when we pick you from your hotel in North Goa. This 2 to 2.30-hour journey will take you through the Zuari river which is the largest river in the small state of Goa.  It originates at Hemad-Barshem in the Western Ghats and flows in a south-west direction through the talukas of Tiswadi, Ponda, Marmagoa, Salcette, Sanguem, and Quepem. It is 92 kilometres long and connects to all the other rivers and canals. Cumbarjua is one of them.

The Cumbarjua Canal connects the Zuari river with the Mandovi River. As you cruise down the canal you will see fishermen in their little boats, some in coracles, some of them crabbing.

Crocodile Safari

The Cumbarjua is home to the mugger crocodile, a broad-snouted marsh crocodile that can grow as large as 4-5 meters (13-16 feet) in length. It’s the main crocodile station in Goa.

Bird Watching

Goa has a different variety of birds. Dr. Salim Ali Bird sanctuary is famous for variety of birds and it has become a tourist destination in recent years.

The beauty of this trip is that you are getting to see crocodiles of different size at a distance from a boat.

This trip also includes a visit to old Goa which is known for its historical places. A guided tour around the old churches will keep your amazed and your day will be full of excitement.
